About Me

I'm a mother and grandmother who enjoys spending time with family and friends, and I thank God every day for these blessings. I enjoy boating, dancing, entertaining, being entertained (mostly being entertained), and writing poetry and prose. I mostly write about life, love, and loss, which I suppose can be encapsulated as feelings, both good and bad.

 

I authored and self-published a memoir titled Nine Lives: The Heartbreak of Addiction, which is a gripping story of my son's dramatic decline into what seems to be a growing epidemic of addiction.

 

The writing of the memoir provided me with the opportunity to speak about addiction and how it affects not only the addict but the entire family. Through a radio interview and speaking at women’s church groups, I spoke about grief and guilt, two basic emotions that take residence deep within your soul when you lose a child to addiction.
